How to Prepare Boba at Home
Boba, bubble tea, tapioca pearls… whatever you call it, we all love and definitely crave it.
Most of us visit local tea shops for our fix, but we wanted to make satisfying that endless boba craving easier. Like so easy, you don’t even need to leave your house.
Enter: Junbi cook-at-home boba pearls.
That’s right. We’re making the same boba we use in-stores available to you through our online shop! And the best part? Cooking boba for your matcha latte or milk tea is super simple — follow our recipe below for perfectly sweet and chewy boba!
Cook time: 40 min | Total time: 1 hr 15 min
Here's what you'll need:
INGREDIENTS
Simple syrup
(2 tbsp sweetener of choice dissolved into 2 tbsp hot water)
TOOLS
measuring cups
pot with lid
wooden spoon
strainer
drinking cup
Makes 1 serving
Here's how to make Boba:
STEP 1: BOIL WATER
STEP 2: ADD BOBA
Carefully add boba (beware of hot water splashing back up!) and stir gently.
STEP 3: COOK BOBA
Once your boba has risen to the top, reduce to medium high heat and cook for 40 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes to make sure they don’t stick together!
STEP 4: FINISH COOKING
Remove from heat and stir. Cover the pot and let boba sit for 20 minutes to finish cooking.
STEP 5: STRAIN & RINSE
Once the boba is finished, carefully drain and rinse with cold water.
STEP 6: COMBINE BOBA & SYRUP
Add simple syrup and boba into your cup and let it soak for 15 minutes.
STEP 7: ADD ICE & TEA
Fill your cup with ice and top with matcha or your choice of tea.
STEP 8: SHARE & ENJOY
